Costa Mesa Lays Off Half of City Workers

Yesterday afternoon at the end of our training session at work, the Vanguard University staff was informed that someone had jumped to their death from the neighboring Costa Mesa city hall. Costa Mesa is laying off half of their city workers and one individual, a 29 year old maintenance worker, was too devastated to face the reality. It's so sad to hear that someone would do this upon losing their livelihood. This is a reminder that work is still hard to come by and that those with jobs are very fortunate.
