Peaks and Troughs
That Irish lad from Boyzone knew what he was on about when he went on about life being a rollercoaster so he did, to be sure, to be sure.
After a rain soaked but Cliff Richard free trip through to Edinburgh on a double decker bus fu' to the the gunwales with students we arrived of at the National Galleries. Splitting them all up and rotating them between the Gallery of Modern Art and the Dean Gallery here we spent a good few hours soaking up some proper culture and hopefully sowing some seeds of creativity in the minds of at least one or two of the group. Hopefully the minority of over enthusiastic and excitable students didn't spoil the visit of others today (including a fellow blipper who was there at the same time, but who I didn't manage to link up with unfortunately).
I did manage to shake off most of the group who were happy to wander at their own pace (100mph; there weren't enough nice landscapes for them) and was left to enjoy the 170 or so August Sanders' images in almost perfect peace.
Had a very nice St.Patrick's Day themed lunch over the road in the Gallery of Modern Art (split pea soup, it was green) sitting across from John Byrne (was too chicken to take blip-paparazzi shot of him though) followed by some more art before a jolly drive home in the sunshine.
Great day.
Then the garage phoned. Car needs a new engine. £2600.
Hands in the air now.... WEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
