Final edition

This landed on my doormat this evening. It's the very final edition of our 78-year-old local newspaper, the Woking Review - one of the oldest free local newspapers in the country. Sister paper, the paid-for Woking News and Mail is also closing.

Owned by the cash-haemorrhaging Guardian Media Group, they are just the latest in a long line of local newspapers to close. A sad day for Woking, and for local journalism.
