Spring to life

I had given up on a lamb picture for today, it's still very overcast and dreary. The lambs were at the top of the field and not much chance of a good shot. I took several alternatives including a goose sitting on her eggs in the shelter, she hissed and looked very unimpressed. On our way back through the farm our farmer friend came out and took me to see the new arrival in the barn. Hurray - a spring lamb! He was born this afternoon so is only a couple of hours old. It was a difficult birth and mum is still carrying the other twin. He's a little 'tup' (male) Woodland White and in spite of being newly born he has the makings of two little horns already (poor mum!). I suggested that in view of the day he could be called Patrick. Happy St. Patrick's day everyone!
