Salvation

This is the fruit of a little labor. These daffodils popped out of the earth very early this year. The product of extreme swings in weather. We aren't very good gardeners at our house. I think it is the busy life of a big family that is the cause of this. However, after these bulbs revealed themselves early, I did heed the weatherman's warning of freezes and covered them a handful of nights. Turned out we saved a lot of the flowers in our bed that we had planted in the fall. Now we are enjoying the fruit of a little effort on our part.

We are attempting a small vegetable garden, as well, with my two youngest. A few tomato plants, a few strawberry plants, carrots, and basil. We might be testing fate, but we will try to learn from our little daffodils and just maybe we will get one salad out of our little garden.
