Journey To Detroit

What I realized today is that the power of music is to be able to reach out to, connect with, and inspire people. For fiddlers, we played a show at the Detroit Leadership Academy after school today. I wasn't able to get a pic of us at the school, but I took this from the bus. I hope it captures some of the persona of the Motor City. I'll always remember the Eminem commericial during the Super Bowl.


It felt good to be able to play in front of those kids. During the show, they were all really getting into it, moving around, clapping, and taking photos. After the concert, they were so excited. Many came to me and wanted to try my viola haha. A few even asked for our autographs. These kids don't get many chances to see people like us. I'm glad we brought some inspiration to them. I wish I had a photo because one is worth a thousand words, but I'll leave with this one and a new fire in my heart.
