Day 8

The remainder of the foundations were dug out yesterday.

Had a panicked call from the builder in the afternoon, an old clay pipe (now disused) from the shared inspection chamber had cracked and due to a backing up sewer we had seepage into the foundations! ugh!! Not the nicest working conditions!

Quick call to drain cleaners and system was flushed.

Concrete arrived at half 8 this morning and the lads set about barrowing 6 metric tonne from our drive at the bottom of our garden about 100 feet away.

Not sure how many barrows it took but they worked like troopers.

Now waiting for a few days for this to set and the brickie will be here on Sat to start laying blues....
