The Grudge

When I gestured for one of my female colleagues to go ahead of me down the stairs the other day, she refused, saying that it's not proper etiquette. I told she was talking a load of old bollocks and that one can never go wrong with 'Ladies first!'

To prove me wrong she then went and looked it up. As it turns out, men should walk behind ladies on the way up the stairs, and in front of them on the way down. Something to do with catching them if they fall.
