Hospital Art Show
Since I used Edward's account to blip two photos of a lovely little red squirrel, he is using mine to blip two today from his hospital visit: the one above and this one. These rather lovely and interesting paintings hang on the wall in the busiest place in the hospital (no, not the ER) - the cafeteria. They have a wall where local artists are featured each month or so to sell their art and also to brighten up the wall for the staff, visitors, and patients. I believe a portion of the sales goes to the hospital in exchange for the show (from March 13, 2011 to April 24, 2011) at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
Below is some text from the Hospital's Art Gallery site:
A View from Here
Paintings by JOSÉE SAVARIA
"The View from Here is a collection of recent paintings which explores the dynamic boundary between sea and land: the place where the human world meets the marine world and the animals that live there. These fanciful, stylized and often playful depictions of the world are a very personal view which I feel privileged to share with the viewer."
Read more about the current show here until April 24, 2011. View a PDF of the works displayed at the show.
After April 24, 2011, you will need to look him up under prior exhibitors here.
His website is: www.joseesavaria.com
Note: I do not know the artist. I just thought I'd share these colourful and cheerful works with fellow blipsters.
