Outside my window....

After a few days of hiding from the world tucked up in my bed doing nothing much but reading books and reminding myself that it would be much more fun if I could drink coffee too, I decided that I really should get up today, reaquaint myself with life outside my bedroom and maybe go for a walk in the park and take some photographs. However one look out of my window and that plan quickly went melted away as it seemed that somewhere between Friday night and this morning spring had disappeared and we'd fallen back to winter with snow flakes furiously falling from the sky. Unable to even console myself with coffee I had a hot chocolate and instead decided to take some shots of the snow landing in the park from my window. The shot I've eventually posted isn't one of them as I couldn't get a great angle without shooting through the window - this is one I shot when I left the house later to go meet and old friend for some coffee. Of course that wasn't a particularly well planned out idea - it was great meeting up with my friend - I always love spending time with her and having a good catchup - but meeting for coffee when you've given up for lent is a bit challenging! I think that by the end of these 6 weeks I might really hate hot chocolate.......

"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again."
