Church gate
After the gorgeousness of yesterday's sun and light it was really rather flat and grey here today.
Busy morning doing all sorts of exciting things and then, as I had to post some letters, we included the village in our afternoon walk.
You can come into the church grounds from the fields, so I usually only go out through this gate rather than in through it - which does say a lot about my church going habits ;-)
However it is one of those very satisfying gates to pass through - the metal is all old, bashed and worn - however so soft to the touch - it makes a very pleasing thunk as you press the lever - and then it swings open with a reassuring weight.
Like the bench from yesterday you do wonder how many people have used this over the years.
