Old wine in new bottles

Passing the local backstreet pub on way home I saw this shoe bag sitting on a step in front of a now sealed-up door. A gentle lift indicated a full shoe box inside.

I stepped inside and asked if they were aware. Yes, they said. Someone had walked past, changed into a new pair of shoes, and left the old ones and bag behind.

I liked the simple boxiness of the lines, and the palette of colours. Plus I like the snapshot story the image now evokes for me.
