Action Heroes and Villains
I was reminded today of a time when I used to be an avid reader of the Marvel super-hero action comics. Aside from the usual super-hero suspects Thor was a favourite. I think one of the days of the week is even named after him (Thursday) - might be wrong here so happy to be corrected. I gather a movie is also being made about him.
Pleasant memories. I passed by the comic shop though - I think I may not now be young enough to be browsing in there! (I know - its a poor exccuse)
ps - a bit of Monday humour and self-confession. It also reminded me of when Virgin Records used to have a store in Stirling. I like Moby and would occasionally wander over to the Dance CDs to check if any new albums had been released. Inevitably one of the school-kid sales assistants would ask me if I needed any help - presumably thinking that I was in the wrong part of the store or that my presence might chase younger customers away. I took great delight in responding with 'no I'm ok - just looking for the milk and newspapers'. Without exception they then left wordlessly and I was left in peace. Haven't had the chance to try this one out yet in Stirling's only remaining CD/DVD shop.
