Silverdale

I spent yesterday on a circular walk around Silverdale, in the far north of Lancashire. The area offers a beautiful combination of woodland and shoreline, with a mass of exposed limestone crags and pavement - hence the name, I think, although it might also be applied to the metallic sheen of Morecambe Sands in the sunlight. I came back spoiled for choice for a picture, but finally chose this because I was so taken by the fractal tracery of the trees in the foreground, and of course the silver of those in the middle ground. With better resolution than my Fuji's, one might also make out the Lakeland fells in the far distance.
