Makin' Whoopie

Tried my hand at something slightly different today. We were uptown yesterday and in Lakeland they had Whoopie Pie tins, they're something I've always intended making. They're sort of like ice cream sandwiches but with frosting in the middle rather than ice cream. They came out pretty well for a first attempt and I'd definitely try and make them again.

My only gripe is that most recipes online seem to use American measurements (and thats when the recipe doesn't just say 'one pack of cake mix' - I mean really, is that a recipe?) which I prefer not to use as I don't find them exact enough for me. I avoided the £15 cookbook in Lakeland since it seemed rather thin and thought 'oh well I'll get something online'. Obviously not...

Turned out I needed to make a quick sprint to Asda anyway for some plain flour and low and behold they had a fantastic Whoopie Pie recipe book which I picked up. :)
