"God's Country"
Hubby H's grandmother was from Canada - she always called it "God's country". Here we are the 2nd car off the uncrowded ferry on Galiano Island -already breathing slower and beginning to relax. Except now we drive 15 min. to the marina, cart a carfull of "stuff" for a week to our boat and have a 15 min bumpy ride in a blustery wind to our dock on the next island, cart all the stuff up the hill stairs to the cabin, now in the rain. (It's our "stairmaster" exercise.) But it smells and feels wonderful and we are happy to be here. Make a fire to warm up the cabin, have coffee and a bite to eat, "veg" out for a bit and take a walk around the property to check it out. Not many branches down since last month, thank goodness. The big Seattle windstorm didn't hit here. I'll get to try out my new camera on all kinds of outdoor subjects this week!
