Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Dog Sunday

Dog Sunday is obviously different than chocolate sundae, but that's what it's been here at "Funville."

These three K9s stayed upstairs with me in the office most of the afternoon while Mr. Fun was downstairs in the family room watching races and napping. So at some point we decided to romp down the stairs to interrupt the races and the nap. We did just that when all three "hopped on Pop" and woke him abruptly.

So I quickly hurried them outside for a walk around the backyard. I found a lizard and made the mistake of showing it to Chloe (white) and Mitzi (tan). When the lizard didn't run and Max (black) joined the commotion, I covered the lizard with my hand and hollered for Mr. Fun to come rescue the lizard. He picked up the lizard and tossed him in the planter with the tree.

Mitzi instantly became a hunter and patrolled and prowled the area even jumping up onto the planter retaining wall. Thankfully she didn't jump in the shrubs and bushes.

Max goes toward the side of the yard with the neighbor's pine tree, where he looks up and barks at the birds. He looked like he was posing for me. It's almost impossible to get a photo of his face because he is so black -- his nose and eyes just blend with his fur. We've nicknamed him "gorilla face." He's completely out-numbered and often out-smarted by the girls. We both think he is so cute; we're so glad we kept him. When we were given these two, we really didn't think we'd keep Max.

Chloe loves to bask in the sun, so she lays on the warm bricks when she gets a chance. I'm sure she still wonders if these others are ever going to go home. If they did, Chloe would be so lonesome. Everyday they dog pile, chase, and wrestle for hours.

So this has been a dog Sunday. That makes two days in a row. Oh well!

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Chloe, Mitzi, and Max), aka Carol
