The Old and the New

Our hotel in Sao Paulo is in a rather well-to-do suburb, surrounded by high-rise condominium buildings with electric gates, security guards and dogs. It seems that this sort of development has caused some of the beautiful old buildings to fall by the wayside. These two buildings are a sign of those days: some examples of Art Deco is just gagging to be put on show once again. The other odd thing is the character you get from having the power lines above ground. I am sure, by now, someone in England would have stolen all of these for the copper...
