Painting

I got overalls to wear for painting today. That made me feel useful - like i was actually doing some real work. Alas they were not painter's overalls, it was a green surgical gown (with a very natty hole under one armpit where a mouse had borrowed some material for some mad mouse project). So there I was, Herr Doktor Mahler.

It was good fun. Not in that Tom sawyer painting the fence way where he ends up doing nothing and his friends do all the work and pay to do it, but in a "Gosh I can really see what I've achieved here" way. I like work like that (sometimes). It was good to be outside, it was good to be useful - I'm tall and I can reach awkward bits that others would have to be contortionists to reach. And I like helping.

The things I'm not so keen on are the fact that I've got "freckles"* now. And seem to have painted large parts of my hair together. I've got my Sprachschule thing tomorrow and I'm going to look a bit like a slow reader type when I go in all covered in paint.

Today's Blip is the paint tin we were using.

*Freckles - Blip warning - do not follow this link if you have delicate sensibilities. This is the Urban Dictionary definition (number 8) of Freckles. I was told about this by some sophisticated Kiwis.
