BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!

So yes, today my little girl is one whole year old! Wow! She is turning into an intelligent and beautiful toddler and we are so so proud of her.

The day began at 6 o clock when Daddy had set his alarm so we could do presents before he had to go to work. Amelie was quite confused by this, obviously not expecting to wake up for another hour at least but went along with it and we were opening presents by half past. We squeezed in a quick breakfast too of Haggis rolls before Chris went to work. We then spent most of the morning playing and then headed out to pick up a parcel (even though we had 4 in the post already in the morning) and went to Waitrose cafe for lunch. Amelie did very well with her banana sandwich and cereal bar, it just didn't seem to be enough for her compared with her seeming to want nothing last week. After lunch we got a few bits and pieces from the shops, including a compulsory helium balloon, and headed home. Amelie was pretty exhausted by this point and got rather grumpy just in time for Daddy coming home and us to do the birthday cake. She stopped crying when we sang happy birthday and seemed intruiged by the candle (a big number one!). We then attempted dinner (I orginally planned on us all eating together but bad timings and Amelie being so tired meant she had to have hers first) but although she seemed to like it she just wouldn't tolerate anything. She had a slice of cake after though which she took behind the sofa to the bookcase to eat!!

She was a very very lucky girl once again and got lots of lovely things.

I had a nice picture of Amelie blowing out her candle but this one of her and her new monkey toy harness and reins is too cute not to blip!

What an amazing birthday! Thank goodness there is only 1 every year...
