Celebrate...and have a good time!

The weather warmed up this afternoon, and some of the snow melted. With blue skies overhead, it was a good time to take a walk in the park. Two highlights of my walk today involved black-capped chickadees, so it only seems right that this little guy is my special celebratory blip. The first highlight was when one of these tiny birds landed on my fingers. In the past when they plunked down to take a peanut from my hand, I have been wearing gloves. Today I was warm enough to take off my gloves, and the little guy landed on my hand...so tiny, so light, and very cute.

The second highlight happened when another chickadee landed on top of my lens and did a little dance as I was preparing to take a photo. He was having a good time! That would have made a great celebratory blip, but it is a little hard to blip a bird that is dancing on the top of your lens. In three years of blipping birds, this is the first time one has used my lens as a dance floor. My endless supply of peanuts seems to be a cause for chickadee celebrations.

I discovered Blipfoto by googling photo websites, and today I am celebrating three years of being part of this wonderful community of talented, persistent, and caring photographers who have become like an extended family to me. Thanks for all the times you have stopped by to look and to comment. Thanks especially to those who subscribe, and, of course, thanks to the very talented people who make this site possible.
