No 52 Not a raptor
Went raptor hunting this morning with Sheffield Bird Study Group, and had hoped to blip a fine soaring specimen, and although I was assured that we saw buzzard, sparrow hawk, goshawk and hen harrier, they were sadly distant specks. This chap, on the other hand, posed very nicely nearby, whilst everyone else was looking skywards in the opposite the direction. Not the world's best soarer, but rather splendid plumage.
