Travelling light ...
We got these doggy "lunch boxes" for use when we take Jess & Molly away for the day. (When closed up, they look a bit like the lifeboats on the Island Escape.)
This afternoon, we have all been invited across to Auntie Sandra's in Portobello. We'll get our tea there, but Jess & Molly must take their own. Time to get out their suitcases.
Unfortunately, they are not as practical as they first seemed. They are designed to hold food in one compartment, and a water bottle in the other. The second compartment doubles as a water-bowl, but the internal plastic lid is a nuisance. The whole unit can be opened flat, and the lid can flip to cover one compartment or the other. It can also be unclipped if you want both food and water to be available at the same time - but then the compartments tend to become unclipped as well.
Trying to put the whole thing back together again is difficult - then the real problem starts when you want to open it out (with food inside). The plastic clips holding everything together are so tight that you risk spilling everything in the struggle to ge into the damn thing!
We finally decided to separate the compartments and rely on the lid to stay shut. Rather than take Largo water with us, they can drink the Edinburgh 'cooncil jooce'.
(Molly's meal is labelled, of course, because it contains her evening medicines.)
