There's nothing like Deuchars IPA for keeping academics happy, especially when they're on a "long lunch break" (i.e. 11 till 3.45). With a little more taste, and generally, a lot more money than the Carlsberg-guzzling students, it's important to ensure that there's always a fresh supply of India Pale Ale for the tweed-clad boffins. And boy, do they get through it at a fair pace.

In fact, I wonder sometimes how their original job interviews with the university went, and at what point the question "on a scale of one to ten, how highly would you rate your ability to spend half of the day in the pub drinking beer, scoffing sandwiches and having pointless conversations about Kafka?" was directed at them.
