I regularly pass these characters on my cycle route to work (there are more in the background). Their coats must be really thick, as the snow on their backs only seems to thaw due to the air temperature going up, as opposed to any heat loss from their bodies.
With a couple of inches of snow overnight, it was definitely a car day today, though I decided to risk the back road. It's much more picturesque, quieter, and easy to stop - snow/ice permitting.
