Mural

Highland Council at the beginning of February closed the downhill lane of this road (which runs past the Eastgate Centre in Inverness) so they could reface the wall and it re-opened about a week ago. Apart from refacing they have take the opportunity to install this mural. I myself think it's atrocious and can only be the work of a third-rate artist probably subsidized by one of our many "cultural" quangos. It's horrible and cheap-looking. But if councils are supposed to be cutting back one has to ask where they find the money for this sort of totally unecessary expense. The answer is out of the pockets of hard-working people and pensioners. Perhaps they should be twinned with Haringey.
