Bert's Bar
It was Mr Scobes who made the short notice suggestion of a blipmeet at Bert's Bar this lunchtime - and by some lucky accident I was working nearby and able to get there. I also managed to persuade the normally elusive Old Bat to come along; she is more usually spotted pottering around the foreshore at S Queeensferry or lurking about at Crewe station. Also present were Silverback, Justsitting, Tonto McDuff and Instography. What an excellent gang.
I blipped the latter two at that inevitable point in any blipmeet when someone gets out their new piece of kit; in this case it was Tonto and his new lens. There may be a bit of lens envy detectable here.
Conversational topics included Milton Keynes, various computer languages, offspring (how many to have?) and ridiculous extremists of various kinds (religious, political, etc etc).
And the Japanese earthquake of course.
I think those shocking images of the wall of water and mud sweeping all in its path are burnt into my memory - much in the way that Cabbagetree will never be able to forget the smell of the dust in Christchurch.
