New bridge
After the devastating events in Japan today I felt it quite poignant to photograph this bridge this today. It was washed away in the Cumbria floods of 2009 and was only just finished being rebuilt a couple of months ago using traditional dry stone wall techniques. I know what we experienced here is nowhere near the scale of what's happening in the Pacific basin right now, but I see the bridge as a sign of hope for the future.
I like that the iconic Catbells is just out of focus in the background, but can still be identified.
