William Henry Playfair

Inspired by flumgummery's blip of yesterday, and being near the Dean Cemetery today I decided to pop in and visit his grave.

He was born in London in 1790 and died in Edinburgh in 1857. He was one of the greatest Scottish architects of the 19th century, designer of many of Edinburgh's neo-classical landmarks in the New Town.

There are so many well-known buildings designed by him that I feel I must blip some.
