Sea change

Spent most of the morning watching the news from Japan, sick-making to see the casual destruction wrought in towns along the coast and inland. This afternoon, I took a walk to the stretch of coast I know best, in Northumberland, to ponder how something so serene can turn so angry and wreak such damage. We may think we can harnass nature, but the planet knows better - and water in particular will do what it wants to do no matter the consequence to people and things in its path.

The planet seems volatile right now, I wonder what is next?
