Spring???

Ha! Spring? I think not! Woke up to another white morning, sleet showers and biting cold. It's not easy to get up when you can see the sleet building up on the roof windows!

Feel so sorry for all the tiny shoots and buds that have appeared in the warmer weather we have had over the last week or so. The garden was starting to look as if it was about to burst into life - I'm sure even the grass had started to grow. Now, in the last two days, we have had lightening, power cuts, gales, hail, sleet and snow but also some terrific cloud formations. Yesterday morning there was a poor little Siskin on the bird feeder so I made sure there was plenty food there today, but he didn't appear. Hope he's cosy and warm somewhere.

Out for a walk this afternoon I spotted a several birds in the bay so, even though they were a way out on the water, I took lots of photos of them. When I have magnified them on the laptop they are pretty blurry but identifiable as a great northern diver, a red-breasted merganser and a pair of long tailed ducks! Much easier to identify them when they are on the screen rather than on the sea!

By the way - this is another windowsill in the village, not ours!
