A touch breezy.....

Today could quite easily have been a day of 'virtual' cycling with one satellite channel showing almost continuous cycling from the sunny roads of France as the elite of the road cycling world spin their way from Paris to Nice, while outside I was looking at leaves swirling past the window as winds of 60 kph swept across Central Scotland.

Undeterred I headed through the beautiful Dalmeny Estate and onto South Queensferry. It was tough going against the wind as I headed west towards the beautiful Abercorn Church, which is where today's photo was taken. This church - or at least part of it - dates back to the 12th century which is a whole lot of history. There were many interesting stones in the graveyard and I'll defintely go back to spend more time there.

From Abercorn I headed away from the coast towards Philpstoun where I trusted the west winds would blow me home with little effort and that indeed was the case - at one point I looked down to see my computer telling me I was doing 61 kph!!! Now that might feel okay descending the well maintained roads of the Alpine passes, but on poorly maintained roads of post-winter West Lothian it was a bone jarring, nervous experience - but my what fun!!!!!

Home to watch stage 5 of Paris-Nice this afternoon :-)
