Abstract

So, I'm dissolving into the bath last night, just me, my bath, my book, my bubbles and my bath cushion. Who fits a bath without getting cramp in their legs trying to push against the ends and keep themselves from drowning, without a cushion?

Anyway, my mind is drifting in and out of the book and towards other things. I refocus and of course the cushion makes that farting noise! I re-adjust it and Bingo! There it is, tomorrow (Today's) blip.

I have admired the bold block colours used in many blips just now, but haven't been able to do them justice. So I take my red cushion, now deflated, and I squash it into the white of the sink. I add some water for interest, this made the creases stand out and become almost luminescent, The light from the cupulla was a little bonus.

When I brought it to the computer, I took the contrast up a little and brought the shadows down a little, and a little, and a little, Hey Presto!

So now we have an Abstract blip. Nothing like the block colours I started out with. I love the way it has a painted quality to it. I love that this suggests I am an artist - I wish you could see me laughing. I love that I can use so many expressive words ending in 'O'. I don't love that this exercise showed up the dust and dirt in the bathroom. I am now about to equip myself with the statutory bleach, cloths, and marigolds and go clean. Crapo!
