taking it public

I have decided that photography need not be confined to our house or our walks (not sure who set those perimeters in my head?) but I can bring my camera with me and take photos of those things that I observe everyday...

So brave old me took my camera into town this afternoon with the children on our dentist visit! For those who often shoot daily life on the streets, I am sure you will laugh at me but for some reason I do find it slightly nerve racking taking out my camera in 'public'.

Anyway there I was in the children's section of the public library snapping away and it felt OK. Alright it was my children that I was focussing on and with a 50mm my range was quite narrow but I did it and I think I will do it again! Just excuse my bored looking child though, it is hardly a candid moment as I had asked him to sit still just a bit longer so I could adjust my settings - thanks Zachary.

I think my new found bravery might be partly due to all the wonderful comments that I received yesterday on my 300th - a sincere and grateful thank you for taking the time to comment and for my new subscribers. Maybe I just gained a tiny bit more confidence as well as a 300th blip!
