The Blind House
Yup I have checked and it sure is called the Blind House.
This building stands beside the Town Bridge in Trowbridge and was built about 1758, it was used to house the drunks while they sobered up. {I presume that is why we have the term blind drunk or at least where it comes from}
The building also forms the Logo of Trowbridge Civic Society which was formed in the late 1970's to prevent a ring road from being built through the town, which it succeeded in doing BUT a number of buildings had already been demolished in preparation for the road.
On my way into Trowbridge I stopped at Tina's for a cuppa and a chat. I had to go to Trowbridge to pay for our accommodation for Portugal, Mike had said that there was a RBS there, me being the mug I am believed him, there's not. It ended up me having to go to Santander and using that account, it just felt like a real mess about, Darn good job I put 2 hours parking on the car.
Thankfully though while I was wandering the streets and trying to decide what to do for the best I found some good places to photo.
