I'd nearly forgotten that today was International Womens' Day. Girl Scouting is a wonderful empowerment of what it is to be a girl that grows into a woman. Teaching all manner of valuable life skills, making a great network of friends and wonderful award/achievements that can be earned as well.

My grandmother always said "Once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout". I am a Scout, and i'm proud that both my girls are scouts as well. Especially my eldest who is at that rough stage where it's becoming "Uncool" to be in scouts.

The GS cookie sales help to fund many programs for the girls on a national level, and on a troop level, allows them to do many things. It teaches the girls how to market, be a good sales rep, how to network, and be strong in who they are.
