Cricket Fever!

The cricket world cup fever is ON and every time there is a Pakistan match, out university is one of the dozens of places around the city that screen the match LIVE and this obviously, attracts hundreds of people because cricket is one of the few things that binds us Pakistani people together irrespective of age, class & gender.

Although, not a cricket fan myself, I still tagged along with my friends to one of the screenings held at my campus. I believe that 85 percent of the students bunked their classes to see the match together and it was quite an amazing site. Hundreds of people were wearing the green jerseys, had painted their faces green and white, were waving flags and made use of all possible shenanigans to express their loyalty and support for the green team.

It was a little bit overwhelming and soothing at the same time. This picture is just one part of the huge crowd. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the emotions very well nor was I able to get the whole crowd in one photograph. I had a hard time deciding between this one and this one that I took on my way home....
