Naeso Temple
Today we visited Naeso Temple in Byeonsan, a rare example of a temple originating from the Baekje Period.
The walk along a tree-lined forest path, with rucksacks we're starting to realise are way to heavy for our trip, was totally worth it.
The temple area was quiet and peaceful, and surrounded on three sides by tall, rocky mountains.
The structure itself had a wonderfully antiquated feel, something often missing from temples due to restiration work (the majority of Korea's temples were burned to the ground by your friendly neighbourhood Japanese invader).
We've now arrived in Gongju, after an epic five bus rides - definitely time to hit the hay.
