Love

C & R having some time together. The Lovely Ange and I went up to Nelson to see some friends, including M who helped move our stuff. This evening we hung out in the best sense. I also caught up on all those things I apparently missed out on during the 80's. Such as seeing the movie Footloose and bits of Flashdance. Don't know what all the fuss was about myself. In the 80's I was mucking about with cars and exploring caves. Oh well.

Filled ourselves up with the companionship of good friends. We are overwhelmed with offers of help and shelter from so many people. Some we've been able to take them up on, some we have just been able to appreciate and know it's there if we need it.

Makes me so much less worried about what might happen with our home. I remember a line from the novel Dune, by Frank Herbert.

"Leaving friends is a sadness, a place is just a place."

It just takes a while to get my head around it all and recover my perspective. The best way to do that I've found, is spend your time with friends and stick together. We're so much stronger when we're close.
