Eagle Rock
An enforced day off work allowed me some me time. I took a stroll from yesterday's blip to Eagle Rock and then along the coastal path to the parkland in front of Dalmeny House. The Burghers of Edinburgh are lucky to have this on their doorstep.
The outcrop of sandstone is named Eagle Rock after the very obscure looking carving of an Eagle on its east face*. It is said to have been carved by a Roman whilst they were stationed at the fort in nearby Cramond. Maybes aye, maybes naw.
*this pic is not it.
