Word Salad

I guess it depends on the quality of the Developer you appoint. And of the Developer's business and ethical standards and the extent to which it cares about its reputation and the reputation of its client.

I don't really understand the message on the blue board on the picture. To me its a mess, jumbled and a form of 'word salad'. It might have made sense at one time but as far as I'm concerned, not now. I've no idea what the '....one simple word' is.

The local significance in Stirling, Scotland is that you don't have to walk very far from the railway station or the town centre before this dilapated building and its blue-painted wooden fence come into view. Its part of a now fairly long running development of part of the town. But clearly this building and the signage have been neglected. No attempt has been made to cover up the broken windows and the 'real' message that seems to scream out is one of 'don't care'. Presumably the local authority who must have given planning consent doesn't care about its reputation either by allowing this derelict and untidy state to blight the land. Pride in the development project seems to have evaporated and when it vacates, it leaves the gate open for others to say 'told you so - this is what developers do once they've won the contract'.

I look forward to blipping on a finished site where pride has been restored. Will be interesting to see how long this takes. My guess is years. Thank goodness there are so many excellent historical buildings of great quality in the rest of the Town.
