Wave catcher

Over the weekend, my friend, who lives 2 blocks from the beach, had a birthday get-together with about 8 of her friends. Despite the 40 degree weather, which felt even colder near the water, we all trooped down the block, wearing boots and jackets, until we got to the beach. Sometthing about being there on cold day, it felt almost forbidden and exhilirating.
