How Do You Get To Carnegie Hall....?
....practice, practice, practice.
First we took a coach bus to the city, then once we arrived we walked up 54052935 (but really 12) flights of stairs (bass clarinet in hand for me..on the way up anyway, in hand) at Carol Studios where we warmed up and rehearsed all our music. Then after that we went to Sbarros for lunch then for the rest of the day consisted of walking around a bit and more rehearsing, but this time at Carnegie Hall..which was amazing...and dinner at The Hard Rock Cafe..where might i add i wrapped my mouth around a delicious hamburger (finally).
After this long day we finally played our concert, but first we got dressed and i gave Boonshaft a speech and his card that i made, then we waited in the hallway for like an hour where it was very hot, and none of the boys could keep their bow ties straight. But our concert was very good, we sounded great. It was alot of fun, but by the end of the night, we were all excited for the car ride home.
It was very special to me because one of the songs we played was amazing grace. This meant a lot to me since it's been one month to the day that Jackie died, and at her funeral they played amazing grace when they were carrying her casket in. I miss you so much! and amazing grace was just for you! ILY!
