The Wandering Minstrel

What can I say about today?

This morning I came to my HTPC to find the remote control had failed and (once again) I had a database failure. Very occasionally this involves having to rebuild the database, however I've got so used to it that it only takes half an hour.

I left the remote and went off to the NEC. There were two shows I wanted to visit: Focus on Imaging, and Destinations. Focus was busy, but very interesting. I did come back with something - a brand new GF2! Destinations, on the other hand, was a bit naff, too many tour operators and not enough tourist information bureaux.

So getting home, I find my technical support line ringing with both Mother and Little Miss reevery (separately) needing help (how do I change my homepage in Internet Explorer and can you talk me through configuring your old router, respectively). With them sorted, I recompiled the remote control into the HTPC and set out to have a play with the GF2.

Suffice to say, I've not mastered it, so the still life shots haven't really come out. However, I thought this photo represents my state of mind, not only at the moment but in general.

The HTPC has still not been reinserted into the entertainment unit (there are two screws somewhere...), the old DVD player needs packing away, the bag of network cables needs to go back in the cupboard, the old packaging needs to be recycled, holiday plans sorted out, camera put in bag, music learned, Chinese learned (for a test tomorrow... whoops), broken hard drive destroyed (dismantled), ramekin taken into the kitchen, hang up headphones, hoover (second time in 2011). I think that's it from this shot, and I haven't even started in the "laundry room" or kitchen...
