War torn ... Norton

Good/bad day today. After we realised that it was the first sunday in the month last night, we cancelled the alarm clocks because as much as we enjoy going to church getting there for 0900 is asking a little too much ...

So a lazy morning of tea and toast with MOTD followed by a little trip to tesco was good.

Then came the telephone call from Pauline letting us know that John (my father in law) had put his back out and was currently in A&E waiting to be seen - bad!

Then i watched the Liverpool vs Man Utd match - worse!

A couple of hours in the garden before visiting John in hospital - back to good again.

I grabbed this as we pulled up in the hospital car park, the local tow-rags were burning rubbish on the grassed area opposite the hospital. I wasn't too hopeful looking at them on the camera screen (and even now i don't believe that they are that good photographically), but I think that on here they capture a small piece of the atmosphere around the fire and area. These people are fighting their own version of poverty and disillusion with their government, unfortunately though they do not have the intelligence, motivation or real desire to make change, so instead they burn and destroy.

Anyways, by the time we left the hospital, John had been administered more morphine and was feeling a little more comfortable and the fire had been put out. Hopefully he'll be out and home in the morning.

Peace out.
