two chickens and three rabbits
the children (those who were up) and Mr. Spitzi went off before breakfast to buy us some new animals. Now we have three rabbits and two new chickens. While they were out I made breakfast (this blip being some of it) and got the fires alight. I had planned to blip an animal today but the light was so utterly unlightlike that I gave up. Will wait til I can exploit their cutsiness on a sunny day.
Tonight we've been naming them. I love naming things even though I generally hate the names the children come up with. For example, our parent-cats are called Sid and Nancy (my choice) but their children are all named after pop-stars and footballers! The rabbits are not mine so I didn't have much say and they are now called Pearl, Lizzie and Calypso - not hard to guess which films the children have been watching recently. I then realised that my five lady chickens had no names - the cockerel is called Max Havelaar - so I have let it all out on them. Chickens are now called Sina (not my choice but Aïsha was determined), Bogroll, Egg, Rolly and Daughter. I have no idea which one is which as three are brown and two are black and that's about all their distinguishing features covered. And I'll only call them 'the brown chickens' and 'the black chickens' anyway. But I feel a bit mollified now - I'm still cross about the fact that I wasn't allowed to call the dog Dog. Flea and I have the same kind of taste in names - bogroll, titty and fanny were high on our list of rabbit names, with burp and fart for the chickens....
Looks like it's safe for me to move away from the computer now as the kitchen has been tidied up and the children are all in bed ;-)
