For some reason, I was browsing craigslist a few days ago, and I happened to notice someone selling a Pentax ME Super with a flash, a 50, a cheap 70-200, and an M 28/2.8. My 35/2.0 has been acting up lately, and I've been favoring a slightly wider view anyway, so I asked if he'd sell the 28 separately. He said sure, for $35.
I had a Pentax M 28/2.8 once (it was stolen on a body a few years ago). I found it at a thrift store in a waterproof case along with a Ricoh body, a 50, and....a cheap 70-200. The whole package cost $30, I think - and the 28 was worth about $100 then, but having it on the body when it got stolen saved me a lot more than that.
I also had a newer, autofocus F 28/2.8, the first lens I got with my first digital SLR. I got it from some camera store in New Jersey for about $90, then sold it on ebay for over $200 a year or so later after I got the aforementioned 35/2.0 (years before I started blipping, so no link).
Now the M 28 is only worth about $60, but this one is ultra-mint, in the original leather case embossed "SMC Pentax 28/2.8", with caps, manual, catalog, and a little strap for the lens case, and I thought $35 was a fair deal. I gave him $40, though, since he drove up to meet me.
So far, it's working!
