Another milestone

Luke is a happy teenager.

His braces cam off yesterday, just over twelve months after they were inserted. Originally they thought it would be at least eighteen to twenty four months, but his teeth moved faster than expected and at one stage he had to get the rubber bands reversed as they moved too far, too quick.

We were surprised that he took great care and listened to the advice on care and cleaning that he was given, while they were in place. He said it felt strange getting them out, like his teeth were huge. He still has a small retaining bar in place for a couple of months and must remember to wear his retainer at night.

Luke's greatest fear when they came out was that he would look like Ross in that episode of Friends when he whitened his teeth.
