Fully re-equipped now. Took myself out to Comet this morning since web searching had revealed that they were the only one of my options with an LX5 in stock. Turns out they also had an LX3, and being unable so see what one would get for the extra £70 (well I could see that I'd have the option of attaching the rubbish Panasonic electronic viewfinder to the LX5 but I couldn't see what else) I plumped for last year's model.

Struggled for a while between the MacBook Air and a plain MacBook Pro but although the spec would suggest that the Pro should be loads faster, in practice, the Air is not only neater but seems faster. Weird.

I also got to play with the 50mm at f1.4. I'd been told it was soft. Doesn't look it to me.
