1) Croydon plays host to the filming of the popular Channel 4 show, Peep Show.

2) Also the ITV police drama The Bill although set in East London is filmed in Croydon.

3) The first self-service Sainsburys opened there.

4) Ronnie Corbett and Martin Clunes live there (no doubt drawn to the Sainsburys).

5) Croydon has been at the centre of the development of the 'dubstep' music genre (Ronnie Corbett is not at the centre of it).
